2006 Skateboard, swimming pool party and dance

Cute Martina is getting her face painted by smiley Cerissa.

Martina (5) is getting the first of two paintings done by Cerissa Young (17) of Galt High.

This shows Al Baldwin just about to drop into the pool while coming down the water slide in his street clothes.

That is ubiquitous Al Baldwin, Galt's man-of-the-town just about to splash into the pool.  Rumors of losing a bet, a dare, getting his clothes cleaned and needing a bath abounded.  Al appeared to be sober too.  Will we ever know the truth?

Lovely Mariah is limbering up for the dance that is about to start in Galt's Chabolla Center.

Just before the dance started, I caught Mariah practicing her dance moves.  Back in my days we called it cartwheeling.  Good luck in finding a dance partner that can keep up.

Connerly & Associates showed off the loans available at the Galt Skate Park party.

Connerly & Associates, on behalf of the City of Galt, has been administering low, 3%, interest loan grants for home repair to families who qualify, for over 10 years. The grants address for code or health and safety issues not for remodeling “wishes.” To date, there have been over 100 projects funded through these loans. Pictured left to right, Loan Officer, Rebecca Keeley, and Chris Erias, Associate Planner.

The Galt C.A.P.S. always show up and hand out nice stuff at our park parties.

Citizens Assisting Police Service (CAPS) Volunteers, front row, Left to Right, Jim Spratt, Fred Jackson, Back row Bill Jedlicka, and George Hetrick. They distributed Balloons, rulers, book marks, key chains, pins, pens, and Crime Stoppers coloring books to all who stopped by their table.

These four posters were done by Galt High students to show our recycling efforts at the Skate Park party.

Galt High School students created Recycle Posters, as reminders to Keep Galt Litter Free.

Galt's park parties are well known for the free hot dogs.

Richard Manzo, Hot Dog Chef, made sure no one went home hungry. FREE hot dogs, chips, and drinks, were provided by the Galt City Council.

Mamy took advantage of the free swim night at the Tony Gora Aquatic Center during the Skate Park party in Galt.

Families took advantage of free swimming in the Tony Gora Aquatic Center.

Six year old Marissa playing on the water slide at the Tony Gora Aquatic Center that is just next to the Skate Park. Galt is so lucky to have such nice parks.

Galt Park and Recreation Department has some great young people to help with our park parties. Thanks to Tanni Watts, Jesse Phillips and Cerissa Young.

L to R: Tanni Watts, Supervisor, Jesse Phillips, and Cerissa Young Counselors for Building Summer Fun and After School Programs sponsored by the Galt Park and Recreation Department.

Free I Love Galt.org T-shirts were given out by Gladys Brown at the Skate Park party. Gladys has been a Galt resident forever.

Gladys Brown distributed free I Love Galt T-Shirts and got contact information from volunteer Kym ReidReynoso’s of Herald.

A few of our local candidates running for the Galt City Council.

“The Candidates” running for Galt City Council. They may tease each other but there’s no “mud slinging” in this group! From left to right, Tom Malson, don Haines, Kathleen Amos, and Randy Shelton.

A red heart adorns the face of Samantha at the 2006 Skate Park party.

Always a favorite, Face Painting. Samantha gets a red heart from tonight’s artist, Park Exec. Pool Manager, Kristin Morone.

Skaters took advantage of the Skate Park from sun up, to dusk.

One of Galt's big features is the flea market. This shows the Galt Market staff telling who sells what at the weekly market.

Representing the Galt Market, Cynthia Robles, Janette Robles, Carina Robles, and Teresa Chaves, provided lists of vendors and the items they sell.

Is Darryl Claire trying to "lift" a few goodies from Lauren's bag?

More dancers arrive for this free high school dance at the Chabolla Center dance following the Skate Park party in Galt, Ca.

Early arrivers Tanteen, Matie, and Nick.

The dance had a DJ group providing the music.

Justin Funke, owner of Rent a DJ West, provided the music for the night.

Galt's Boys and Girls Club sold refreshments at the dance.
