How about our neighborhoods? Do they look the best that they can? You know
that the appearance of the neighborhood affects the actual value of your home.
The City wants to go to your neighborhood and assist in putting on an I LOVE MY
NEIGHBORHOOD block party. It is our hope to create caring communities in each
neighborhood.
We will bring out a fire truck and a friendly fireman that will give you ideas,
coloring books for the kids, and directions on how to make your home safer. McGruff will be
there with information on how to "take a bite out of crime". Information as to
what you can do with the help of your kids to keep your street in tip-top shape.
Who do you call when a street light goes out? Proper lighting makes safer
streets. What are the rules on Code Enforcement? Innocently, people put their
families and homes in jeopardy when they don't follow the code enforcement
rules. These and more questions will be addressed.

Close knit neighborhoods are safer neighborhoods.

On the right holding a red cup is Barbara Payne. She is a
council person for Galt. She kept busy with residents discussing current Galt
