Gourmet Turkey Dinner in Galt to raise money for the John Moran Scholarship for Estrellita High School seniors

The evening was filled with laughter, new friends seeing old friends and old friends making new ones.  Everyone was in attendance for a significant reason.  We all support the Youth Committee in providing a scholarship for exemplary Estrellita students who perform community service.

Charlene Barnhart of Sweet Creations operates a new business in Galt.  She was kind enough to bake and decorate cakes for the John Moran Scholarship turkey dinner.

Cakes by Sweet Creation – The Cakes were delicious and we could not get enough of them. I tried some of each Carrot, Strawberry and Chocolate with pudding. We love Sweet Creations!

The Rodriguez family teamed up for the Turkey Dinner – Sergeant Rodriguez, wife Maria and daughter Britannie.  Sergeant Rodriguez is the army recruiter for Galt and Estrellita High School.

Down to the last 5.  These are the potential winners of the reverse raffle.  l. to r.  Leo VanWarmerdam, Ruth Colombero, Judy Conley, ?? and Barbara Payne.

Tony Lara (principal), Pat Maples (GHS board member) and Debbie Moran.  Debbie is the widow of John Moran, namesake of this scholarship program.

This turkey was seen around Galt advertising the fundraiser for the John Moran turkey dinner.

Chateau Turner State Farm in Galt was the first to turn in sold tickets.

Zarle of Zarle's Accessories was very supportive and sold tickets for the dinner.  Her shop is at 233 South Lincoln Way.  Unique fine and fashion jewelry and hand made accessories are quite inexpensive and make great gifts.  Visit, or call 745-4385 to see the hand made crafts available in Galt.  Give her a big thanks for helping us during your next visit to her shop.
