Bake sale for the John Moran scholarship fund

By Duane Ausherman

Annalisa (Anna) Purnell suggested to me that she would like to organize a bake sale to help fund the scholarship, I was pleased, very pleased.  Over the past couple of weeks we discussed various aspects of this kind of event.  Anna followed up very well on getting the manager of Save Mart to authorize the use of the property for the sale.  She got tables and chairs to be delivered by Parks and Recs.  The key club of Galt High solicited volunteers to help sell.  As the date drew near, it was obvious that rain was in the forecast.  We discussed the pros and cons of changing the date etc.  Anna made the decision to forge ahead and just do it.

Since Save Mart has two entrances, Anna decided to staff both doors for maximum coverage.

$607

That is the profit from this sale, can you believe it?  Anna did a wonderful job along with the other students.  Thanks to all.

Bianca Ocha helped collect for this year's scholarship.  She was the recipient of the 2005 scholarship of $500.  She studies at University of the Pacific.  We are all so proud of her.
