Welcome to the City of Galt
Beautification webpage. The Galt Beautification Committee is the official
advisory body to the Galt City Council concerning general beautification
efforts. The Committee is comprised of five members and one alternate appointed
by the City Council that volunteer and are dedicated to improving the visual
impression of Galt.

This is the result of the cleanup of the dumpster area by
tenants of Raley’s shopping center. By asking the manager of Togo’s and
Baskin Robins to assist, it finally happened.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Galt Beautification Committee is to enhance,
restore and beautify the City of Galt by advocating a high standard of community
involvement, cleanliness, maintenance and attractiveness.
Goals
The Committee will:
Plant trees and flowers, establish gardens and otherwise decorate and improve
the City of Galt’s Public Landscape. Educate and engage residents in
beautification projects. Engage residents and businesses in clean-up
activities to eliminate blight, graffiti and other nuisances that discredit our
community. Participate and monitor Graffiti Eradication; Neighborhood and
Citywide Clean-ups; Earth day Activities; Abandon Shopping Carts Removal;
Recycling and Household Hazardous Waste Program; Tree City U.S.A.
Projects:
1. Eventually develop a slide show on city blight for Council Mtg.
2. Monthly -select Home of the Month winner.
3. Select Business of the quarter ---develop criteria and implement.
4. Develop partnership with Galt Chamber of Commerce.
5. Define activities for which funding is needed and solicit funds from City
Council.

Bed of Roses Planting March 24 at Galt Post Office

The Beautification Committee kicked off this year's bed of roses with a
yellow rose planted in memory of Doris M "Chuckie" Hall at the Galt Post
Office with 12 family members in attendance. Pictures in front are four of
her eight great grandchildren, Lace Lazarro, Nathan Harris, Cliff and Gavin
Lazarro and in the back are Zackary Perry, Lisa Ferguson, Jeana and Cliff
Lazarro, Tammy Perry, Dan and Skooky Kelley and Marylou Powers. Also in
attendance was Evelyn Moore of the Committee.
The Galt Beautification Committee plants roses in memory of loved ones in an
effort to spread color and beauty within Galt.
The program was developed to bring color and beauty to the area and also as a
way to honor loved ones.
Past plantings have included ones for former Mayor Darryl Clare in memory of
his mother, the LaVine family in memory of Herman and Helen LaVine, and Sue Cory
in memory of her mother-in -law, Dixie Johnson.
The Beautification Committee will provide a rosebush for a $20 donation in
the color of donor's choice. The committee welcomes family and friends at these
